Middle School (Year 7-9)
Through living our values of Respect, Resilience, Inclusion, we aim to meet the holistic needs of young adolescents by nurturing positive relationships between students, staff and families. We promote resilience and support our young people to develop independence and confidence.
We offer an inclusive program that supports individual learning needs.
Our Pastoral Care Program focuses on becoming a community of learners. By engaging in cross Year level Home Groups in their House Teams, students develop a sense of pride and school spirit. Through programs such as Rock and Water and Open Parachute students have opportunity to continually develop self-regulation strategies and mindfulness for self and others. They also develop community awareness and increasing resilience in an everchanging world, along with an awareness of managing their personal mental health and wellbeing. During Pastoral Care students also learn and practice positive behaviour for learning (PBL) expectations to promote successful learning.
Our curriculum includes all areas of the Australian Curriculum. Middle School classes take place in the Middle School building which includes a media studio and special technology room. Specialist classes occur in appropriate areas (Hospitality, Art, Design Technology, Gym, and Digital Technology) and Inquiry Learning is one way our students develop their passion for learning by working for an extended period in an area of interest or passion.
